Ipsy Box… are you ready for the ugly truth?
I checked Ipsy ingredient labels for you ladies… YIKES!! It was a toxic chemical storm🌪
There wasn’t a Banished Ingredient I didn’t find!
❌ Phenoxyethanol, Parabens, PEG, Polysorbate 60, Paraffin, Propylene Glycol, Bismuth Oxychloride, Carbon Black, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Talc, Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, BHT, Methylisothiazolinone, Fragrance, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Bismuth Oxychloride, Synthetic Dyes, Formaldehyde releasing ingredients.. the list goes on!
This is unacceptable. If the FDA isn’t going to ban these ingredients, I am! Who else is committed to being a conscious consumer, to using the Banished Cheatsheet to set your ingredient standards, to being the gatekeeper of your home and not allowing toxic products in?
We know better, so we have to DO better.
If you’ve been following Mindful Mommy and have been a part of our facebook community, your eyes are open to the lack of regulation in the beauty industry.. there’s no ignoring that or turning a blind eye now that you know. When my eyes were first opened I literally trashed it all. Not only for myself, but for my husband, for my child, for my future children, for my grandchildren and future generations.
It’s not just about us anymore. We have others that look to us. And we have to be the ones to educate and empower the younger generations to learn from our mistakes. (Side note but I strongly believe every child needs to learn how to read labels! It’s a life skill they will carry with them long after you stop buying and choosing their products. They pick up quickly, too! You’d be surprised! My daughters probably know more about ingredients than most adults!)
But back to Ipsy and makeup! I get it, toxic makeup is all the rage. I’m guilty of loving brands from Ipsy, Ulta, Sephora, and grabbing all the popular products talked about on YouTube channels.
They look so pretty but if you could only see the ugly truth behind those pretty products and see the poison and what they’re doing to your body, you would NEVER slather them on your face again!
It’s simply not worth it, especially when there are clean options available. When there are companies that care about YOU and your health over cutting corners and making a profit with the sacrifice of your health. Companies that act in integrity and have high standards.
Choose clean beauty because you deserve it.
Choose CLEAN beauty and vote with your dollars. Stop supporting these toxic brands.
